Lake Norman Regional Economic Development Corporation Hires New Director

The Lake Norman Regional Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Jerry W. Broadway of Mechanicsville, Virginia has accepted the position of Executive Director of the Lake Norman Regional Economic Development Corporation (LNREDC). Broadway will start to work in his new position July 5, 2006.

Broadway has been Deputy Director of Business Development for the Virginia Economic Development Partnership for the past seven years. The State of Virginia has one of the top economic development programs in the country. Prior to his current position, he was Director of Marketing for Henrico County, Virginia and Vice President of Marketing for the Virginia Peninsula Economic Development Partnership. Broadway graduated from Old Dominion University and received his Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation in 1996.

Broadway is a seasoned professional who has spent many years working in a variety of economic development areas. He has developed, marketed and sold economic development property, handled complex negotiations, closed deals for major corporate clients and has a wealth of international experience.

“We are very fortunate to have attracted an individual with Jerry’s qualifications and experience,” said Tim Holder, LNREDC Chairman. “Jerry will certainly be able to hit the ground running and continue the economic development progress that has been made in this area the past three years. Huntersville, Cornelius and Davidson, and our corporate partners are excited about Jerry’s decision and looking forward to working with him in the near future.”

After being selected, Broadway stated, “I am honored that the board selected me for this position. I look forward to living and working in this dynamic region and to applying my varied experience for the betterment of the communities.”
